Is DB9 Limp Mode Due Engine Oil or Transmission Oil Temp?
Discussion
I'm sure somebody here knows which sensor initiates limp mode in the auto trans car when you are pushing hard.
On the track I can get about 5 laps before the warning comes on and the paddles are disabled...then I run a cool off lap and limp mode disengages.
On the street it takes a lot longer to hit the threshhold, but I have a couple of times.
My question is...does a rise in engine oil temp trigger this mode, or is it a rise in transmission fluid temp? Or could it be either?
Whatever the case...I would like to learn what the threshholds are and in the case of engine oil if it is a conservative limit, set it slightly higher. If it's the transmission, I would like to investigate a larger transmission cooler and/or a better/cooler running fluid.
Thoughts?

My money would be on gearbox oil temp based on my recent experiences with AM gearboxes
Also the fact it disables the paddles rather than cutting power suggests its the box.
It ought to be possible to see the temp over the OBD port some how
Either way if you are running it hard in a warm climate you might want to think about coolers on both circuits IMHO
