Have just had the immobiliser and alarm removed from the S to stop batter drain, and we discovered that the Fuel Relay was playing up.

It's the Red 77180 40a unit - does anyone know if these are still available?

Lots of 2nd hand ones on flea-bay, but would rather go new for obvious reasons!

Hi , if you go on the ford capri club website you will find a new one ( black) . I bought one when my fuel relay was broke and does the job. Obviously the sierra, capri 2.8 i same thing.

My S1 fuel pump relay is a purple/pinkish colour.
The Ford part no. is embossed in the end of the casing, not the white printing on the side.
I obtained a spare one made by Pearl, in black, from Speedyparts, which I have tested in the car & it works perfectly. You need to make sure that the relay has the timer function for the pump priming phase when ign is switched on.

ETA It may be worthwhile carefully prising off the the plastic cover of your relay to check for water ingress, which can happen.
A good clean with moisture dispersant spray can give it a new lease of life.
