BMW E46 330ci Convertible

I have posted recently about an E85 Z4 3.0si / Z4M but I am having trouble finding one.

Putting to one side the reasons for choosing a 4 seat over a 2 seat, what do we think of this?

I have chatted with the seller and he seems very nice. The car is straight, had 4 new tyres fitted today as well as the handbrake shoes replaced. The wing mirrors are the only thing not working (they do but also work on their own in wet weather so the fuse has been removed!).

The starter motor was changed recently and the clutch and DMF done at 90k. Assuming the usual cooling system gremlins are done, or taken off the asking price, does this look like a good deal?

I am sure a few quid could be shaved off!

If it as clean as it looks from it seems a reasonable price. I've seen plenty over the last few weeks around that budget and the one thing I would check is rust on the arches (outer and inner) as they all had it to some extent.

Price seems reasonable if it's as good in the flesh. Are the tyres a decent brand? Worth specifically asking about rust on the arches, and whether the front wishbones have been done recently. If not, look out for tramlining

Have had no reports on rust - the usual few stone chips but otherwise straight.

Looks expensive to me for 128k miles, a few about with a lot less for similar money, perhaps not the same spec but even so..

I thought it may be too expensive but if you factor in that it is the facelift model (6 speed, LED lights etc), a good history, 4 new tyres etc and take that off the asking price (I know that is not a pure way of looking at things) then it makes more sense I think....perhaps.

The engine and gearbox are good for huge mileage so no worries there.

I think I may just wait for the right Z4.

I'm looking for the 3.0si or Z4M in roadster form in the right spec at the right price. There are some cars there but either overpriced or without the bits I am looking for.

There were 3 over the weekend but they had all sold. More will be along.

That's good. Worth checking very carefully. The rust starts on the inside and once it's visible on the outside it's going to be a pain to fix. Front wings are easy to replace but fixing the rear ones is less easy.

I sold my facelift 330Ci Sport last year to a neighbour with 75K, silver for £5K. With 128K sounds a bit dear imo.
