Hi all,
I have a tech edge wideband sensor unit and I wondering where is the best place to fit the sensor.
The fitting I have to weld in is stainless so I'm thinking fit it to one of the two pipes in front of the box and as close to the box as possible so it gets a more even measurement from each bank????
Anyone fitted one?
Cheers

I fitted mine near the end of the manifold and they need to be at the top
of the pipe so that water does not accumulate on them.
I also welded in a spare one on the other manifold and used a blanking bung to seal the hole - this just means you can swap sides to further diagnose issues.
I got the spare insert and bung from JP exhausts - just a couple of quid.
It's probably worth mentioning that MIG welding stainless is a bit of a waste of time - I had too many issues with porus welds, so I used a TIG in the end.

It would be worthwhile downloading and reading the Techedge info on positioning ..

Ive got 2 of the tech edge wide band units installed and wired up to my DTA for trimming both injector banks, they are installed on the top side of the manifolds just back from where it goes from 2 to 1 it is best the get the gasses when they are at there hotest to get the best readings.
Plus there is loads of room at this point for them with in the chassis.

So, if you read above it says the recommended distance from the closest exhaust valve for the sensor is 1metre, as Adam Q says the manifolds will need to be removed, or maybe just the longest one. My question for the day is, does anyone have a manifold already off the car that they can measure for me, how far past the 2-1 joint is 1 metre?
