I have asked questions about these before, but now can't find the thread.

My 996 main beams are very poor, despite trying a number of different bulb types and makes of the same power. I don't want to put in uprated power bulbs as I am concerned that the increased heat might melt the reflectors.

Which xenon conversions have others used and could you please provide a link.

Thanks

HIDS4U.

On my 964, 993 and 996. Night and day. Literally. I went for the higher power setup on the 996 and it was well worth it.

I also went for 5K. Basic set from Euro car parts.

Miles better than standard but not as good as the factory xenons I'd had on a previous Audi. Wish I'd gone for a more expensive set.

Researching further afterwards, it appears the difference is in the ballast rather than the bulb.

Thanks for the advice so far. Any other links that might help?

I got HID's on my 993 also - as others have said the difference in night and day.

I got mine from Gert at Carnewal when he did my RSR exhausts - the Xenon set rather than the HID's. Was around EUR100 I think.
