Big day for VYR7G
Discussion
After 25 years without a tax disc my old 69 Vixen is now road legal. A pic of my car in the "waiting room".
The buzz of handing over my MOT cert at my local post office and receiving a free tax disc for the old girl was a great feeling. Those of you who have tackled a project like this will know the feeling and for those who haven't then I can only recommend giving it a go - it's been great fun- well most of the time at least!

This is the last time we will get a paper disc as I think they are being discontinued as of October.

Thanks for the kind words. The restoration has taken me just over 3 and 1/2 years. I started work on it the moment I bought it home and it has been a rare week when I haven't at least tackled one little job. Although I must admit that a few of those jobs have had to be revisited at a later date!
It's interesting that the second owner of this car had it for 19 years and never did get to drive it. Seems a shame but I can understand why these projects sometimes never get finished.
I will indeed be venturing out onto the lanes of Hampshire and although I've been a member of the TVRCC ever since I bought the car, I've yet to go to a meeting. I think I will go and park it up next to one of the big V8s next month. I wouldn't have felt quite right going to a car club meeting without a car to go in!
Oliver, when I get some time I was thinking of writing a little piece about my project and I will send a draft to Sprint to share my thoughts and experiences on buying, restoring and now driving my Vixen. Thanks for suggesting the idea.
