Cleaning sticky stuff of the roof ?

Hoping to part ex the misses boring corsa next week and despite washing it i can't seem to get this sticky stuff of the roof :




That mark in the middle is made by my finger smearing it just before the picture.




Anyone got some good car cleaning tips ?

I sometimes have to park under a sycamore tree which is full of aphids and my car ends up covered with sticky goo. I have found that Autoglym tar remover is good stuff (though I suspect it might just be expensively rebottled white spirit) but if you have a bit more time the clay bar will give you an ever better finish.

Never heard of that Clay bar before but googled it and it does seem to do the trick so will give it a go!
