Griff screen was pipe .... how do you replace it?
Discussion
Hello All,
I'm getting my Griff back on the road after its been stored for the last two years.
There is one job to do for the MOT.
The screen wash works, but the water does not reach the windscreen, it comes out in a puddle under the car.
The must be a split in the pipe somewhere, but the pipe just disappears in to the body work.
Can anyone help?
How do you replace this pipe?
Thanks
Steve

Steve, I have a similar problem, which I haven't yet tackled. I am assuming that you are talking about the pipe as it leaves the washer bottle.I'm getting my Griff back on the road after its been stored for the last two years.

On my Griff, somene has clearly had a problem in the past and has directed the pipe out of the clutch master cylinder cover (they've cut a slit in it and then smeared loads of silicone around it) and behind the flexible heat shields to the washer bottle.
There is a hole in the inner wing close to the bottle and I think the pipe goes in there (it does on my other Griff) into the inner wing and past the pedal box into the driver's footwell and then up to the washer jets.
The only way I can see to guide that pipe into the inner wing is to unscrew the aluminium plate in front of the carbon filter and get your hands in there to guide the washer pipe through, into the inner wing and out through the drivers footwell. You may need to remove the radiator to get the aluminium plate off.
At the moment I haven't tackled this as it is in the "too much work for a limited benefit" category, however I will do it in the future sometime. I will be interested to see how you get on.
If you are talking about taking the washer pipe to the jets then this is a whole different ball game and is covered in many threads on here but by all accounts is a right barsteward job to do and involves removing the wipers etc.
See my previous thread:

I hope this helps a bit.

If the problem is near the jets then this post might help..........
