Damn stone chips.... god damn it!
Discussion
I have managed to pickup 2 stone chips during my trip to North Wales and was wondering whether anybody had any advice with regards potential repair, what are chipsaway like is it worth it or are they a waste of time??
I have the car booked in with PaintShield in a couple of weeks and would ideally like to get these chips removed before they apply the film!
Any advice and/or recommendations greatly received

If it's only a couple of chips, I suggest that you have a go with Chipex:

Lots of us on here (including myself) use it and the results are remarkable. Just be patient and take your time.

Here's a couple of the previous Chipex threads:

I used chipex on the DB9 and I feel I became an expert on this topic - I taught Mikey K everything he knows http://www.chipex.co.uk/

If I were about to 'film' it I'm dubious as to whether or not I would have d-i-y-ed it first

Volcano Red does not appear on their colour code list
I am also effing useless at anything like this so have severe doubts as to the outcome!!
Might give PaintShield a ring and see if they can sort them out prior to applying the film.
I think ChipEx will mix the paint for you if it isn't listed. I'd call them and I'm sure they will help. I don't think Paintshield will do any correction beforehand. The film is amazing though.

I have a 3 month old 1000 mile Onyx black Vanquish and I'm absolutely gutted at the amount of stone chip damage already. It's washed twice a week and every clean reveals more chips. It seems to me that the paint is either too brittle, too hard or too soft, it just isn't durable at all. The rear edges on all the wheel arches are now peppered. I just keep touching them in with the OE AM touch up paint, I don't like it because the base colour coat is now water based. I use a selection of slash cut cocktail sticks, brushed put on far too much paint. It needs a bit of practice to get it right.
Soft paint on the Astons. Your story is the very reason I got my paint corrected and the Paintshield film applied before doing any serious driving. The silly bit of film that is applied at the factory to the front of the rear arches is useless. Had that removed and film put on up to the swage line.
It is depressing to see the paintwork constantly getting peppered with road rash.

If you have too much paint in the chip let it dry thoroughly (days), wet sand it flat with 2000 grade wet and dry paper, then polish the dull bit with some fine compound and it should be fine. That's how I do mine and they are mostly almost invisible.
fine compound?machine polisher and autoglym?

Andy they did Volcano for my Roadster and if I can do it you can. They have the code on file as they mixed it specially for me. Result is excellent just take your time.
