Watching the btcc at the weekend made me wonder what the most successful btcc car is?

The civic, in its many guises, has been winning races since it's introduction nearly 10 years ago? And the Astra was all conquering in the early 2000's, but does anyone know which model of car has won the most races in the btcc?

I would say the astra coupe for 4 years it was the class of the field with 3-4 top line drivers in each year.
The civic was first ran by arena motorsport won a few races with Chilton and not sure if james kaye even won in it. It was only when dynamics chopped up the integra's to make the there civic it become that successful but from 2007-now its been winning races apart from 2009 don't think they won a single race that year.

Interesting thread will do some research in to it.

I need to check, but I think the most winning car of the supertouring era was the Laguna.

Will have to dig out the old website page I did for this.

The Sierra RS500 won 40 consecutive BTCC races outright back in the late eighties.

But didn't win the overall title as it was Class A and the BMW M3 was Class B.

And the M3 then went onto win DTM as well. I'll go with that as my guess

A subjective and non-statistical interpretation of OP's question:

Nissan Primera, Honda Integra which were competitive (overall classification) and race winners in the hands of privateers/independents

Though its previous incarnation was underwhelming...

There are so many cars which have a good case.

I guess that there have been so many rule changes - and icons of favarious eras that a 'Hall of Fame' maybe a better format?

OK I may be biased but the DC5 is right up there.

In Team Dynamics hands, it won 43% of the races it entered.

Ah didn't know that but I guess when at a time when Vauxhall were the only show in town, it's easy to win races.
