Canyon torque ex gapstar

Good morning. After my mtb was stolen 2 years ago I've been reluctant to splash out but now the snow has melted, I need some fun for my days off.

So had a brief look and found a bike I like the look of, the Canyon torque ex gap star. I was wondering if anybody has this bike or familiar with the brand. When I put my measurements into the canyon site it recommends a small frame but I'm pretty sure I'd be suited to the medium better.

I mostly ride at glen tress and some local trails so need a bike for all terrain.

I've given myself a 2k budget so any other recommendations appreciated.

I've not got that bike but do have 2 canyon hardtails and 2 canyon road bikes. As you might guess I would definitely recommend the company

As for sizing they are pretty standard in sizing in my experience if you normally ride a medium I would go for a medium. There sizing system can throw some odd results if you happen to measure one part incorrectly.

Looks to be a fun bike.
Lots of similar spec to my bike (170mm RC Solo Air Fork, crank, gearset, chain device, brakes etc) all of which have performed great on my steed.

Geo is vey similar as well - it will be awesome on the downs - but on the really steep climbs the front will be off the floor and you won't be able to control direction very easily. But that doesn't matter because you'll still be laughing about how good the last decent was

Great value for money, I've got a Nerve CF & like the bike lots...unfortunately the frame has failed after 3 months & I sent it back to canyon. It's been with them for 8 weeks & there's no sign of a replacement coming any time soon. I've sent numerous emails asking for updates & progress & it's usually a couple of days before a reply lands in my inbox. I've now asked them for a replacement bike or refund as this caper has gone on long enough. I'm awaiting a response.

Very disappointed with their after sales & wouldn't buy from them again even though the Nerve CF ticked all the boxes...120mm travel at both ends, full XT groupset, good spec wheels & not the usual OE/branded cheapo's, reverb dropper post, lightweight (sub 12kg) & looks bloody great.

Hoping for a refund at this stage so it'll be a Scott Spark for me next time...

Bit the bullet and bought it. A little weary spending so much on a mtb but I will use it as intended. Should have it in a couple of weeks. Will stick a few pics up when it arrives. Cheers.

Here is the canyon torque ex gapster. The cane creek shock is huge. Managed a couple of rides and it handles very well (yet to come of) a bit heavier than I was used too but that suits the type of riding I do. Still to find the ideal set up but that's part of the fun.

The instructions for the bike are pretty poor but luckily there is tons of stuff online.

Edit comes with zero gravity. No idea how to change the picture haha

Is there a lockout on the front fork or on the cane creek dB air? Have been thinking about getting one myself for local trail riding.

The new models for 2015 have just been released and look pretty sweet.

Has the advantage of a dropper post included but is slightly pricier. Still not sure about lockouts though?
