Using PCD and wheel spacers?

Hi all, just a quick one, my kit car has 20mm wheel spacers fitted ( with extended studs ) now i want to go around 50mm wider.

I have been looking at PCD wheel adaptors that go upto 55mm, is it safe to use the 55mm PCD wheel adaptors and fit the 20mm spacers i have on them?

Just easier and cheaper than going deeper off set wheels, really wnat to keep with the same size wheels i have fitted.

If you want to replace your wheel bearings every 3 miles, sure, go for it.

I dont mind that problem and would expect it, the car only weighs 700kgish, its not used a lot less than 5k a year.

Aside from the increased load on the wheal bearings from the increased offset, it'll probably completely bugger up the suspension geometry, and make the car bloody awful to drive. It'll react to bumps, with very poor directional stability. McPherson struts are particularly sensitive to offsets, in fact, they're flawed to start with. You may even find that it'll be so bad, max speed will be curtailed. Steering may also be heavier. Stability under breaking may be heart stopping. Best abandon this for sanity/safety reasons !!

Ok sod that idea, how about just getting a deeper offset wheel on the just the 55mm PCD adaptors? will that be same outcome? the wheels i am running now are ET13 with the 20mm spacers, the suspensionn is Spax coil over.
