I was taking the Cerbera to get some fuel before going out for a little drive this morning. As I left the roundabout to get on the Worcester bypass (pretty slowly as engine was still cold) a battered Mondeo came screaming past with a gentleman leaning right out the passenger window indicating his opinions of me. I'm fairly sure I'd not cut him up at some point further back and my driving had been, up til that point, pretty rudimentary, so I can only conclude it was the car he'd taken offence to.

Does this happen a lot?

Spunky cars draw emotion. For those wearing human masks it's envy, rage and resentment. Worse still in a convertible.

Happens now and again. But the Chimaera gets more positive comments.

Some people are just dicks and your car stands out. Try working at the roadside, every day you get people honking and gesticulating, shouting or throwing objects for no reason confused

The Cerbera normally attracts positive comments most of the time I found although I did once have a couple of lads shout at me saying it was my dads car and also had a group of lads in a fiesta shout I hope it breaks down soon!

Probably because it allows them to demonstrate (in their own minds) how big and tough they are, without having to back it up because they're safely speeding away from any comeback in their big steel safety barrier.

My mustang draws a lot of looks and mainly positive attention; but also a fair amount of dirty looks... Possibly as its loud when pressing on...

Ahh yes angry dad syndrome by the sounds of it. A man who can no longer afford to have a V8 powered noisy entertaining car because he has 3 kids to bring up, often to an overbearing wife who won't even let him have the hot or mildly warm version of the family saloon, nope a 2.0L diesel Mondeo is his lot. This makes angry dad very frustrated and well...angry. This anger is vented at anybody with a remotely sporty car because they remind him every time he sees one that he isn't allowed to have one.

In a convertible you can actually hear people calling you a wker. In a coupe they actually have to do the gesture before you know.

When I first got our Chimaera it was a new car (almost). I was shocked and stunned by how so many, many utter twunts said horrid things about me and my wife. But I also got a good few positive reactions too.

When I got my Boxster S it was ordered from new. My goodness if you thought there were twunts out there in a Chimaera it was ten times worse in a Porsche. Frankly I can only begin to imagine what its like in a Ferrari. But you also get very positive comments, too.

In short I'd say most people are decent and say nothing. A minority of people are enthusiastic and nice to you and are interested in the car. A small minority of utter wkers are jealous enough to say stuff you wouldn't believe beforehand.

The nice thing about the wkers, though, is that they get to go home and be a wker for the rest of their lives. Whereas you get to drive a fantastic sports car. Cool, huh. I wouldn't swap...

Funny, a few weeks ago a Mondeo driver thought he would show his driving prowess by overtaking me in my Chimaera on a blind bend going through a 30mph zone in a small village near Worcester, twonk.

Yes some very moronic, angry with the world aholes out there. In 6 yrs. of driving my Caterham only had 2 complete cock shufflers shout out.

1st. sweaty, fat, people carrier chav type, in a parallel traffic queue ''Yer wky little sports car aint faster than this in traffic'' while trying to laugh his smoke infested lungs out.
2nd. when I tooted a lane swerving, suited company car type incompetent, ''Get a proper size car so you can be seen tt''.

Well they will probably be in front of me in the stress related heart attack queue, & they're welcome to it. hehe
