Derelict cars ?

What do you have locally ?

We have a Red Micra that is now green and a Rover SD1 2600 that is remarlably tidy considering it hasnt moved in, well, decades.

How does anyone decide its a good idea to have a decomposing car outside their house for years, I have a mate who makes a habit of it but he cant explain why he does it.

In quite a rural area, seems every farmyard has a moss-covered early Range Rover classic acting as a home for chickens! Will be interesting to see them all emerge from the murk as prices increase!

i have an x308 xjr on my drive , it failedits mot but i am undecided as to what i should do . buy another and keep this one for spares ?

still looks respectable for the time being...

I dont have any myself however i do know of a house not too far from me that has in excess of a dozen proper Mini's & early Skoda's that are all slowly rotting in his front garden.

I tried to photograph them a few months ago, from the public footpath, the owner went nuts!

A mk2 Discovery with number plates removed on bricks "hidden" in a derelict shed, by brand new fence panels.
Ironic that 2 mins walk away if a local independent garage that specialises in LR repair.

there is one i see in Manchester,
a two door Daimler/jaguar 5.3 coupe, needs a back window but other than that looks ok

oh and an knoackered old fiat 500 i used to see at a mates house (jacko) :-)

I've had an old Rover in my garage for almost five years now. Hope to get it out this year!

My old 1998 Camaro Z28, immaculate when I had it, ended up on bricks with the diff casing removed.
It's sadly growing moss but I am told the owner has refused to sell it.
Been there 2 years at least.
All very odd and sad.

Neighbour near my folks has had a Renault 9 on his driveway for approx 16 years! not covered and not that bad rust wise by the looks of it!

Got 3 cars on the drive here, all green with mould.

They're all road legal and driven regularly, all washed fairly often - it's very damp locally (lots of trees around, a stream in the back garden, gardens perpetually damp under foot even in the hottest driest summer, condensation on the cars over night even at the height of summer), and the mould thrives...

Just round the corner from me, an Alfa 155 with a flat tyre and a lot of leaves on the roof sitting in its driveway. It doesn't look used but given its position it must have to be shifted to allow vehicular access in and out of the garage. I'm sorely tempted to drop a note through the door asking them to leave the keys and paperwork out with it
