but we haven't seen anything of it, so is it stashed in a garage or did it not arrive in the UK?

Saw it April 2013 for sale by Kyle as a part built - in reality it was part dismantled, I.e., no engine, this had been sold separately. I thought about purchasing the car but research showed it could have been previously registered overseas and as such would have been a problem to register as new, good idea to do your homework prior to parting with a not insignificant amount of cash ! In any case I ended up purchasing a nearly complete kit that I could put my own stamp on and am 95% complete, engine is running but my electrical expertise is being tested.

So crafty got the remnants of a scrap bin supplied originally by fran hall to Kyle and Kyle swapped his lot for something that is virtually impossible to register to an unsuspecting buyer in the UK from crafty......?

Im really struggling to find who actually stitched who up in this highly entertaining set of unusual ocean going swap shop shennanigans......

Not enough homework done, the car was never registered in Hong Kong asfirst registration tax is nearly 100%, so it was run on Trade Plates.

Crafty

How have you got on with the bits you got from Kyle. Any progress on the build?

Don't be silly dude - remit was part built - you must be on another planet if you recon that car would get a new 14 reg in the UK

provided that the car comes with all relevant reciepts for the build and a new replacement engine I see no reason why not.

Yep.
A few other projects got in the way... but the SLCs are progressing. I'll update when they are done.

The SLC's and the Black Brick now live at the track, the guys have been busy with other stuff so the SLC has taken a back seat (only a sneak peak from a couple of months ago for now) the Black Brick now has the supercharged R1 fitted, along with methanol injection and a Winters quick change rear. Has run 200hp at the wheels with only 7psi boost and without the methanol.... first race for this one in June.

Apart from that.... been busy with Historic stuff in OZ

I bought a Brabham BT2 Formula Junior, chassis #3, quite a famous car being the original works car in 1963.... here it is in the day with Gavin Youl driving. This thing is a blast to drive, managed to secure a very good race mechanic who has built killer engines for all 3 cars in OZ. So far we've done 3 events with the new engine in the Brabham and broken the lap record for Formula Junior at all 3 events.

I was in line for Goodwood in the Brabham this year but had to pull out... going to be a daddy in June!!

Im in OZ now, taking this one to the track tomorrow for testing before an event on the weekend. Lotus S4 twin cam with a a very tasty new engine (among other things)... ugliest seven ever built, but a very fast weapon in historic racing.

And still pedalling the Sharp Holden....

it got IVAd 2010 after that ive made numerous changes / updates / never ending quality improvements / warned people not to touch SLC bits to UK (failed with kyle but at least he found a mug buyer for them, errmm was deeply hurt to get a knocking on the interior (rightly so at the time) so went to town on that and as near to OEM that a hand built car could achieve, I think 200 or so rapid prototype parts on my car, get numerous drop jaw viewings (a few people from here) but they never post up anything :-( , polish it, enjoy it.

in your heart of heart I know you now realise stuff....... :-)

maybe one day crafty when/if you in the UK you can come and have a look to see how far it is from your bits. (6000miles??)

nahhhhhh one off is much more sexy.....don't you think...?

besides when henry done an FMEA study on bits that he would be getting from USA (or not) it worked out he would need 15 full time inspectors, 2 stock takers and a six full time scrap merchants / hallers....

I think that's what put kyle and mike off also...?

mind you I like his new business profile....

"importing scrap from USA, swapping it for a car from hong kong and when its here stripping it out and selling the bits on......"

As opposed to:
1. talking up a huge storm about a new car
2. calling it "The Ass-peerer"
3. "IF" anyone orders one ....not being able to source the chassis due to pissing off the manufacturer
4. ..... so planning on copying it.
