Discussion
Is it a general or industry specific fair? Regardless, prepare as if you would for an interview; immaculately turned out with some quality printed copies of your CV in your briefcase. Be prepared to engage in conversation and network like there's no tomorrow. At the end of the session, choose 3 leads you'd like to follow up on and let them know this. Go away with the next steps having been agreed. Good luck!
1. Dress appropriately.
2. Take more copies of your CV than you think you'll need.
3. Take more business cards than you think you'll need.
4. Research companies you specifically want to speak to beforehand and have appropriate questions for them. Golden rule: do not ask anything you can find out on Google.
5. Ask for a business card at the end of every conversation. Drop an email the next day - great to meet you, attached is another copy of my Cv, etc.
Good luck.
