Hi

I've got a couple of days away booked in the lake district. (Newby Bridge)

It turns out check in is after 4pm, so I have plenty of time to get there and thought I might as well try a scenic route rather than M1-M6.

Any suggestions for a route, perhaps I should go motorway for a bit and go cross country once I pass Birmingham?

The above aside, if anyone has any recommendations for some good drives in the lakes area, let me know smile

I asked for advice on a similar trip last year: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I hope you have better luck with the weather than I did...

Enjoy thumbup

Looks awesome man. Thanks for the heads up. I'll have a little look through.
Fingers crossed on the weather for sure, hopefully being May, we'll get away with it. Which route did you take in the end?

Peak District -> Yorkshire Dales -> Lakes would be one potentially fun route (traffic dependent).

Absolutely. We're going on a weekday, no school holidays so hopefully traffic will be light. Should be taking the Subaru, so I can't think of much better than the peak/lake district biggrin
