Hi,

At present I have a 98 996 cab which has racked up 117k on it and am thinking one day I should really swap it for something I intend to keep until the price of fuel becomes unbearable.

I love cabs because;

1) I'm far too crap a driver to notice the difference in handling anyway
2) Since driving cabs I find coupes a bit too claustrophobic
3) I'm probably a bit of a ponce
4) I like hearing the sound of the engine (aural sex?)
5) My little lad thinks they are ace too, hes sub 2 years old and knows more than I do about cars

I love the shape of the 964 coupe most out of all the 911's but am thinking when it comes to cabs it might not be as straightforward as buying a coupe. By this I mean the watertightness (probably not a word but if LOL is in the dictionary then im allowed to make up words too) and reliability of the roof might be a factor too.

Out of the 964, 993 and 997 is there a huge obvious difference in quality of the roof and mechanisms involved? I am assuming the 997 is the best as it's the most modern but is there a huge difference between my 996 roof and that of earlier models?
