A new(?) name I hadn't come across before

UK built - this one called simply AF8 - any thoughts to the styling and/or background of the company?

This is a brainchild of Arash Farboud - the same chap who made Farbio GTS, which then became Ginetta F400

This wasn't that one with the hilarious interior in orange or something was it?

Not a new name - pretty sure it's been around for a bit.

Company is based in Newmarket - it used to have a small corner window where you could see a white car of some description, but now the blinds are closed.

To be honest, I've never seen one on the road and I don't know whether they build the cars in Newmarket or now - it's a big building though.

Shame really, it would be nice to see a UK made supercar being driven around locally...

Looks a bit like one of those MR-2 based kit cars.

Evo covered this years ago, or at least the origins of it. Arash Farboud was the company owner who used his parents money from a pharaceuticals company to set up the business. The original Farboud was quite a nice looking design, which I then seem to remember was sold to another company to produce (or Farboud itself was sold). Arash then formed out of that, again under Arash Farboud's ownership...and that was the last I heard of it. I'd assumed it was dead.

Shmee did a video on them not too long ago, goes into quite a lot of detail about the car with the owner I think! Good watch to get an overview of what they are doing

Article in this month's EVO.

IIRC, he's had two companies fail before - both with seriosuly priced cars. He believes he now knows what it takes and hopes to build a small number of cars and make a success of it.

Or at least closure.

The company isn't mentioned in the local papers (to my knowledge) - I imagine that it would be if a viable small capacity supercar manufacturer was making cars in a smallish town frown

ETA: I don't know if other buildings on the 'estate' behind the main warehouse are operational, but there are cars coming and going through the security gates...

Chunky looking beasty - not altogether unpleasant!

I've spoken to Arash a few times and he seems like a genuinely nice guy.

Good luck to him but it's a tough market as he well knows!

I'd be surprised if this succeeds.

The AF10 was a nice looking car; this is just odd from any angle other than the front.

How many G60s have Ginetta delivered I wonder? I saw a G60 on the M62 a couple of months back and it was a stunning looking thing.

Quite impressed having seen that Schmee video. Looks better in the video than the pics, but just doesn't quite shake off the feeling of a kitcar. Coming from a TVR owner I know that's a bit rich, but the overall design seems to be made up of lots of "must have" features, which just don't quite gel together.

Watching that makes me think that it's a very expensive amateur effort albeit a fairly impressive one but in no way shape or firm able to compete with the big boys.

Imagine trying to sort out a major warranty issue yikes
