Nissan 350z vs subaru impreza sti vs golf r32 mk4
Discussion
The STI will cover ground faster than the other two. My father in law had an '05 with prodrive bits and bobs on it. It was astonishingly quick. Never been in a 350z or R32 though, but I would have though the STI will be fastest.
It all depends on what you want the car for. My choice of the 3 would the golf. It's quick, 4WD, fab build quality and it's the most inconspicuous. It blends in. That's just my opinion. They're 3 great cars though. Tough decision.

I have driven both the 350z and Scooby sti and I liked them both but they are quite different regards the driving experience so it just depends what you prefer, I am a big fan of jap stuff but the golf doesn't really float my boat(apart from its engine) but appreciate we all like different things.
I changed from a 370Z to a Hawkeye WRX, both fun in different ways. The Subaru is obviously much more practical, the Nissan feels more special, more of an event (although I wasn't fond of the interior in the 350, one reason why I dug deeper for the 370; the Impreza's not outstanding in that department though, to be fair).
A friend went from an Sti to a 350z then back to an Sti within 12 months. He loved the 350z but it was no match for the thrill of the Sti, a point driven home after a run with a few of us in Imprezas and him in the 350, he spent most of the day playing catch up.
As for the R32, I do really love them and they sound great, I have even looked at a couple myself but know i would be let down by the lack of grunt. They sound outstanding though!
To sum up my opinion, the 350z is great but wouldnt float my boat, the Sti is a point to point bullet and the R32 is an AWD luxury car with grunt. Personally, power and performance wins every time.......

Test drive all three is my advice. I did was in a similar position some four years ago, now looking to change. If you are around my area, come and have a drive in my golf.
I ended up with the Golf as got plenty of room, I can put surfboard and bike on the roof (or bikes on the back) but it's not the quickest car in the world so bear that in mind, and the 350z you can't, that and the build isn't quite there. As for the Scooby a great car just not for me I appreciate everything it does and the soundtrack but not sure it's me.
Test all of your options, I looked at the Mazda 3MPS too.

I have a 350Z, as quick as a normal Impreza, perhaps a little quicker but not as quick as an STi, power wise similar but a lot heavier.
It is 50 plus bhp more than a standard wrx, but its easy to put a wrx to 280bhp. just done it with my old bugeye which is only 220 or so standard.I had a 2007 350z for a few years, 327bhp after exhaust and filters. Nothing between that and a Sti on a dual carriageway with the nissan pulling slowly away at silly speeds.
The sti would be more flickable in the bends as the nissan is a heavy old girl. Interior wise and running costs my vote goes to the nissan compared to all 3 cars of choice. Cheap insurance, very reliable, better looking.
To be honest the golf would t even get a look in..... Even though I've just ordered a new golf R.
The 350 will always be like a first love in my eyes lol.

For me it will be the R32, I love Golf, the 350Z is a nice car but the Golf is nicer to drive. Not sure about which one will have the best performance, engines are almost the same size and naturally aspirated but as for driving the Golf is a real drivers car as far as I am concerned, I have driven a 350Z
