How to carry on?
Discussion
Well after 12 months and 8,000 miles my black C63 AMG Coupé goes back tomorrow to be swapped for a resale silver C250 CDI Coupé
Not quite sure how I'm going to carry on! I keep trying to sell myself on the upsides; mostly focussing on the significantly increased cash flow. It's not going to work though I'll miss the noise (oh the noise), the speed, the hooliganism and the feeling I get when I turn the key and that V8 flares up. There's some rear rubber left so I'll console myself by leaving a few 11's on my way to drop it off! I hope she goes to a new owner who drives her like she was made to be driven. In the meantime I'm going to save my pennies and work out the best way to get myself back into another large capacity, Affalterbach-built V8. So for the final time:

We should have a separate thread for ex C63 owners, and those about to be parted. Could be used for therapy, as I will be in the same position as yourself soon.
A question I and many others have raised is where do you go from there? The drop is so huge, will you be satisfied with another vehicle, or soon be back at the dealer to sign up for the new C63? My friend test drove a A45 AMG as there were no CLA45's available, and mentioned that I had one, the dealers words were "C63's are in another league, these aren't even close"
Either way I feel your pain, and hope that the fact you can say you've had one of these monsters, instead of just dreaming, is some comfort in the future.

Buy a cheaper AMG.
You can get a half tidy E55 for less than 4 payments on a C63
Not as quick, but still good fun, without killing the bank balance!
I wouldn't be so sure. When I had my E55 back in 2008, when I sold it I tested a C63 with power pack and it sure as hell felt a lot slower. You can get a half tidy E55 for less than 4 payments on a C63

My E55 felt no slower than my 997 turbo. My cousin recently had a 13 plate C63 coupe with powerkit and again, felt a lot slower.
And relatively easy to free up more power too!
Warning - you WILL miss the noise unless you modify the exhaust on the E55.

Get a Soundracer V8 (or a V10 or V12 if you like) - http://www.soundracer.se/You'll probably have to turn it up to overcome the diesel clatter though.
