Looking to get into this sort of thing 'properly' as opposed to Forza / Gran Turismo on a console with a gamepad.

The Logitech G27 seems to be a good bet. Is that still good value for money? The T500 gets some good words but is a chunk more expensive.

And I'm assuming going in at the lower end of the spectrum is a waste of time.

Any thoughts? One of the appeals of the G27 is the clutch and manual shifter setup. Do any games actually accurately model the clutch? Clutch slip..even stalling etc? Or is it a bit of a waste of time?

I have a G27, and a G25 before that.

Great wheel for the money and should you choose to there are loads of mods out there.

If you are getting into PC sim stuff then you can also mix and match.

The T500RS is mega but since Fanatec brought out a bunch of new stuff not really the best of the so called "budget" end.

Fantec clubsport pedals have a load cell and new version is hydraulic too.

Iracing and the like model the cluct very well compared to GT6.

Above all this you have the likes of FREX etc where you can spend an easy £10k on wheel and pedals alone.

G27 seems best bang for your buck currently own one myself pretty good wheel. Some games you can use the shifter depending what car it is etc. Some mods using rfactor use it aswell I.e old F1 cars or group C. Depending on how serious you take SIM racing with rfactor you can go from simple f1 leagues to full 24 hour events with other guys doing a 24 hour in may myself.

Fanatec (CSW), ECCI or Frex.
