A big smelly scamming rat by the looks of things; a 50' benny for 5k? Aye, right.

Someone on BM flagged up an outboard on eBay a few weeks ago that was half it's genuine price.

It's easy to say if it looks to good to be true it probably is, but the problem with boats has always been the widely varying price differences that you see.

It's not like cars where there are so many for sale and advice from the likes of what car and glasses guide that you can estimate a market value. With boats it's not so easy.

So how would the scam work?
If you get scammed on ebay you pay your money but the item does not turn up.

Bit different if you are standing in front of the item you are buying.
