Recently fitted new polyp ARB bushes and they squeak and grown a bit even though there's a shed load of rubber grease on them. Previous owner (2 back) actually had the same problem and eventually fitted thin brass tubes over the ARB to ease the problem.

Has anyone else had similar issues? ARB was stripped, cleaned and sanded smooth and has a lovely coat of smooth black paint on it so no real roughness to catch.

Not sure if it's down to the crap brackets, so maybe thinking of trying these:

Any similar issues out there? Thanks.

Fair enough. Thought that might be the answer. Where did you get them from? Any idea what car they are originally off?

Seem to remember they were Mk IV Ford Cortina but could be corrected...

Very annoying and seems to be a characteristic of PU bushes... but Waxoyl cured it for me.

ARB on mine is 25mm so the 18mm/20mm from the Cortina is not the same. Will have to do some digging I think.

Silicon grease/ oil is good for plastic bushes, it's inert so no adverse reactions.

Thanks Jon, will try the engine oil first to see if it helps. Cheers.

Just be aware that oil bloats some plastics. I know it will ruin nylon. Not sure about poly bushes.
