where's the fuel lobby gone, after the strikes when the threatened to reach 80p + , now it's 83-89p and nothing absolutley NOTHING.

This is my biggest problem. These people see accidental death as yet another statistic they can engineer to zero without much fuss like everything else. Only they can't. But they think they can with scameras, and they'll just continue to ignore their lack of effect on the statistics as they can always fiddle them a bit next time.

in some regions they have gone up, in others there has been no change..

I had a look at the BRAKE website recently and was surprised at how much I agreed with. OK they are as daft as a brush about speed limits, but I'm all for more driver training.

I drove around for 6 months with no front plate (it was in the boot after a respray!).

Got pulled, got a producer.

Best option would be fake plates; only if you go past a roadside tax disc scamera and they have a Police car handy would you meet a problem - assuming you don't get a random pull. In that case I guess you could claim someone must have swapped them in Tesco's car park...
Actual fine for failing to display (or misrepresenting) a plate is a pittance and no points, but if you made a habit of getting pulled you might come unstuck.
My guess is that, mysteriously, plate offences will suddenly become points/ big fines issues...

I can't see you being fined if some worthless scrote comes along and steals your plates.

In theory they are required in Washington, but my highly unscientific study has shown roughly 1 in 20 do not. Including me. Over here its the kind of thing where its only a problem if you're being exceptionally stupid. They wouldn't just pull you for the plate.

Well speeding is my religion. I am offended by the sentiments of Brake et al. I think it is disgusting that all this effort goes into speeding to save at best 125 lives a year. The effects are in fact to kill an axtra 20 to 50. All this at a cost of £160 million. 5000 die annually of MRSA and 20000 die in their home of cold due the lack of effectiveness of global warming. Cigarettes kill absolutely loads of people, about 2 million annual. Traffic calming measures kill about 1200. Though some of them could be saved by banning fags and butter. The police shoot almost as many as speed kills, though in the case of environmentalists this is nowhere near enough, the bibs must do better. The constructon industry kills a third as many as speed kills and the rail industry kills 10 times as many from asbestosis from the days of steam. As for the mining industry, well they drop like flies.

On the other hand the really really really bad nuclear industry actually killed no one last year and the coal related deaths of 1990 were more than the nuclear industry has ever killed since it began. I think it is time to take to the streets and rid the nation of the nonsense that is liberalism gone mad.

Doesn't somebody do some LCD plates that gcan go blank? They are supposedly for trackdays to stop Insurance companies finding out who does them.

One good thing in Winter is that your numberplates rapidly get very dirty.

So dirty that they may not be readable, which would be a shame.

What have number plates got to do with the insurance contract you enter into with the insurance company. It's the vehicle they are insuring and it should be covered with or without plates, correct or otherwise.
