I'm considering pushing the button on a 12 plate roadster.. I would say it would be nice to drive it this weekend however not sure it's going to be the weather for it..
Couldn't decide between an R8 (loved the looks), a 911 (too common?) or the Vantage... I'm 95% of the way there however having last minute doubts...
If you look like a night club bouncer or a member of the Eastenders cast then I would go for the R8
If you still have a bit of hair left, like to wear a cravat and have ambitions to one day own a salon, then the Vantage Roadster is for you.
For all other categories, get the Porker

Your ability to bring clarity and sense to any thread never ceases to amaze me

I have driven all 3. the 911 is the best overall ! but its too common and I think the new shape looks too big its lost that pert classic shape . I have a friend with a R8 and it is often being trailered back to dealer ( Audi's are not as reliable as people think )but the Aston just feels special to me and people will like you more !
If it were me I would arrange test drives in all 3 in one day - They are all good cars you would enjoy ! but one will stand out in your mind at the end of the day and that's the one you should buy !
my budget was not quite so high but I narrowed it down to a XKR 5.0 the Vantage and an Evora all fun cars in there own way the XKR the fastest , the Evora the best handling but I could not stop thinking of the Vantage So a heart over Head decision but the right one for me .

Don't agree with that.

I've got a DB9V.
I haven't got any hair,I look like a geezer from Eastenders and I have no inclination to become a hairdresser.
Get the Aston,roof down,shades on,give it some moves,job done !

Have hair, strangely enough I am having a cravat made for me (friends wedding) however don't aspire to owning a salon - 2 out of 3 isn't bad.
Have test driven the R8 before, felt a bit too much like a Golf to be honest. Nothing wrong with Golf's of course however not special enough.
I've driven a couple of Vantages - one of them seemed very skittish and not overly stable which put me off, however recently went out with an Aston driver (i.e. ex race driver who now works for Aston) and it was a completely different experience.
Have had 3 Boxsters before (no, honestly - I don't own a hairdressers) and a 360 - the Vantage seems to be the right blend of special but not too showy.. If that makes sense.
I'm test driving the car in question at 1530, will let you know how I get on.
Thanks

I don't think we have been told, V8 or V12.
Presumably the V12VR was produced during registration plate 12, and with only 101 made, is expected to become a classic.
Enjoy your test drive. We all love our Astons.
Beautiful classic style, discrete, admired, uncommon, powerful, and make a fantastic noise when needed.
Mr. Jockman is on PH a lot today.

Forecast is for a cold snap this weekend, Jon, so you never know.....

When it's cold and wet I sell the old codgers waterproofs and thermal underwear, wellys, etc to keep them all warm and cosy and ALIVE.

I could sort out some shrouds for you if you wish to expand your product range When it's cold and wet I sell the old codgers waterproofs and thermal underwear, wellys, etc to keep them all warm and cosy and ALIVE.

Our standard colours are white, pink, blue, cream (sable), lilac (helio) and oyster, though we do a limited range of satin ones on maroon royal blue and navy blue.
You'd have to sow your own pockets in them though
