Overshoes

After having my feet soaked through on the way to work this morning and relishing the prospect of imminently putting my feet back in to some soaking wet shoes... what overshoes do you use or recommend?

I've been reading reviews of the Castelli overshoes on wiggle and none of them seem to be that highly rated in terms of durability or waterproofness...

If you ride in the rain, you're gonna get wet feet. Take a change of socks or two and put your shoes by the radiator with the insoles removed.

I have the Castelli diluvio overshoes and rate them for warmth and keeping showers out.

And I'll third that vote for Endura. I'm very pleased with my Dexter overshoes.

Sealskins socks and pretty much any overshoe will do a decent job but you will always get wet because rain will run down your shins / calves.

I swap pedals and wear Northwave MTB boots if going for a longer properly wet ride.

I have SPD's on all my bikes and simply swap shoes

The £10 Planet-X ones fine for 30 mins or so of rain and cheap enough to replace annually if you destroy the undersides like I do.

Assos S7 Rain booties (it's PH afterall). Stops you're feet cooking in wet / non-wintery days; and in the winter these & 2 pairs of socks and Roberts you're Fathers Brother.

Just need to be careful putting them on, as they are fairly aero (in reality tight/snug). Shoes with the windy knobs, dial thingies (like the s-works); can be prone to catching so you need to careful not to tug too hard and rip them.

They're also rather natty / jaunty looking so could double up as shoes for a night out @ the Torture Garden.

Same here, I find that its not about keeping All the rain out, but keeping your feet warm and mostly dry.

I've got SealSkinz ones, one of my few impulse purchases from Halfords of all places. They're great, keep your toes warm as well which is a bonus. I got the SealSkinz gloves too and they're equally good, I even took them snowboarding (the gloves not the overshoes).

I commuted through the Frankfurt winter in a pair of Deacthlon Quecha low cut hiking boots. No more cold or wet feet. €40ish.

Recommended.
