Second Impression of our new Porsche Macan

After dumping my wife and getting the car to myself for an hour or so I must say the driving dynamics are tremendous.Without her in the car I could drive it to its true limits,within reason officer,loads of go if you put into sports mode and sublime handling for an SUV.
The true ability of this car will never be utilised by the majority of owners but what it will be is a great school run car and if Dad is a bit of a petrol head it will double up as the best driving SUV in its class when he`s allowed to get behind the wheel.
Interior set-up gets better once you get used to where the buttons are and their functions.
All in all I do think for the first year taking everything into consideration a great value buy.
Still prefer my Aston though :0)
Back to the subject of my OPC at Reading.
I hear a lot of people slating Porsche dealers which I find strange as the service from David Churchill gets better(ps I am not related or do not benefit in any way shape or form)
I text him at 19.00 this evening to ask where our roof bars were as I had forgotten about them in all honesty when we collected the car.
He rings me back in 3 mins to tell me with the issues of the Black chrome trim having supply problems it was left off by mistake when the order was changed to matt black.(No noticeable difference for those concerned about the change.)
Straight away he says will get them ordered out of stores and let me know when they are in.
Plus could I make there golf day on at Stoke Park.
Now thats proper service from a Porsche dealer but I will still keep with my Aston as that is the best car in the world :0)

Nice to hear you're appreciating it more and more. I remember many years ago, barely out of my teens, saying to friends that thought the dashes etc always looked the same and old fashioned, that there didn't seem anything special about BMW's (E28's and E30's back then)....until you'd used one for a bit and then got in something else and noticed all the flaws it had, hard to see gauges, switches in the wrong place etc etc, as well as the way it drives. It sounds like just the same would apply to your Macan - at first you were thinking it's very very similar to the Q5, but it sounds like if you swapped for one now it would be a big disappointment.
