My OH had a lump removed from her breast 3 weeks ago. She was given the results this week and thankfully it was nothing sinister, 'just' a fibroadenoma.

Since the operation though she has been suffering with a lot discomfort from the breast area together with sharp, shooting pains. She has spoken to the aftercare nurse about this and has been told that it is perfectly normal and is a result of all the nerve endings sorting themselves out.

Just wanted to know if anybody on here has any experience of anything similar, how long did it last and whether anything can be done to relieve the discomfort. (I'm sure somewhere will mention massage!!) And I know I should probably post this on Mumsnet but they would probably call me a pervert!

Thanks.

I haven't personally, but my friend who had a cancerous lump removed had a similar thing. If it lasts too long though, do go back and get it checked but it's probably skin being right and settling back into place - I had something similar with my c section, took a couple of months to go.
