Looking for some volunteers
Discussion
Firstly thank you to Paul Garlick for allowing us to post this.
We currently have a video camera system that will track speed, lap times, g-forces and track position.
Example video
We are looking to get footage of the major tracks in the UK (and Europe), but being based down in Cornwall we don't get to get out much (too busy surfing).
We have 3 of these cameras available for loan, in return when the camera comes back, we would like a copy of the footage from your track day.
If you would like to take us up on this, please email info@roadhawk.co.uk including the following:
Track day attending:
Day of track day:
Type of car:
Roll cage or not:
Track experience level (beginner / intermediate / experienced / race driver):
If we get a lot of interest, we will randomly select people on the basis of date and availability of a loan camera.
The footage must be free for us to use in any marketing and adverting etc and we must have the full rights use the footage as we wish. We are happy for you to share it with friends and post it to social media etc.

Any problems with the circuits' comments about commercial use of footage? I seem to recall MSV have a clause about this.
The main usage will be to get a number of videos for YouTube, building a bigger profile for the use of our cameras. If we decide to use it for commercial work, we will contact the track before releasing it.

You could always record lap times via a datalogger or video system so long as the driver couldn't see the times while driving.
That's just a more sophisticated way of someone else timing you from trackside - either way you look at the times when you come in, go out again and try to better them. I thought the whole idea was to discourage that completely.Gassing Station | Track Days | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
