There used to be a monthly meet in Rothwell.

Maybe we could attempt this again?

Cool, could be worth a go if we can get the numbers. I read about a restaurant in Wakefield area that is trying to promote use as a car meet hot-spot, so I could have a chat with those guys if there is enough interest (and if I can find the article again!).

Any other local bods about?

Horbury. Cerbera goes to paint shop at the end of the month so if before then it would be the M3.
Couldn't possibly go in the Peugeot van.....

I'm near Pontefract, would be interested in a meet if I'm free.

I'm about 15 mins from you, not that far.

Can't find the name of that new pub that has opened, knew I should have kept the article. Will keep looking, could be a good meet venue as its on an industrial estate.

Anyone else from around here?

Interested to know more about Wakefield cruise. Facebook looks a year out of date? Any more info?

The red kite on Denby Dale road could be a good spot for a meet.

I think I've found it. The name rings a bell, but the location is different to where I thought. It's a restaurant rather than a pub but it is a nice, private location. Perhaps a bit too formal for a chilled out gathering of car nuts.

Red Kite is a good shout. In fact, that might be best as it'll need no major planning and its location is pretty decent for 5 cars or 50.

Anyone else interested? I'll make some enquiries. If you are a lurker rather than a poster but fancy it email me paul@motorcloud.net.

Cheers,

Paul.

We have regular NYLOC informal meets at the Red Kite - good place for a bite to eat and some banter.

The Pledwick in Sandal's got a massive car park but perhaps not as much room for chat. I'm still learning all the local hostelries so happy for others to decide!

So, options so far are:

Red Kite, Denby Dale Road
The Pledwick, Sandall
Hogs Restaurant, Central Wakefield
[somewhere], Rothwell.

Red Kite still the front runner I think as it's easy to get to - just off the motorway, has a good car park and is on a business park, so more space if these meets take off.

Any suggestions, or strong desire for the other locations?

We'll plan a date/time in a few days. I'm thinking weekday evening. It's getting light and weekdays don't require as many man-points as weekends. smile

Cheers,

Paul.
