Hi folks,

MOT failed today cry Good news though it was only on a light bulb, emmissions (no CATs) and a worn front tyre.

I am running Estorils with 205/55/15 on the front and 225/50/16 on the rear.

What are my best options regarding size and what tyres are a good bet as a decent all rounder, no track days (yet) and don't cost the earth.

They do seem like a bargain.... plus Quidco cashback smile

Take it I'm best sticking with current sizes?

I would stick with the sizes you have unless you ahve a god reason for changing them.

However more importantly you should avoid mixing tyre brands on the car, as this seems to really upset the handling,

Balls, more like mixing different kinds of tyre or different ages, but then saying that, I have old, hard eagle f1's on the front if mine and brand new falkerns track tyre on the rear, handles ridiculously well! But I still want to replace the fronts when they've worn down on track a bit more

Tyres ordered for a smidge over £300, quite happy with that considering a mate of mine was moaning the other day at paying over £200 per corner for his tiny engined eurobox hehe

Went for the Uniroyals, purely as they look better than the Toyos............ oh, and the reviews were pretty good too smile

Bridgestone RE002 Adrenalin - available with the correct speed ratings for the front as well. Just put some on mine and they're excellent so far. Nothing wrong with the Toyos, had those before and they're fine. smile

I've got RS3’s on the front and am pleased with them.

When the T1R's at the rear wear out, they'll be replaced by Uniroyals as well.

Could not agree more. Rain Sports are about the best tyre I have used although only used on road and not track. I have had them on all my recent cars. They are especially good in the wet, first time out in a modified Skoda pushing 280bhp I hit a very large area of standing water at the bottom of a hill. I grimmaced and hung on gripping the steering wheel like it was gods own hand.....The car parted water as though Moses had given it the say so ! Any other tyre I have used would have had me aquaplaining in to the nearest hedge but they were quite impressive and as such use them whenever a tyre change is needed. They will be my first choice once the TR1s need replacing.
