I got some walnut to go on from Horty.
but what's the best way to fix them, I removed all the old stuff and removed all the rust, and given them a coat of primer.
should I top coat it also 1st and then stick it on, or should I have stuck it to the bare metal.

I'll be doing one set walnut and one set carbon.

some pic's below.

only problem with that is possibility of the bare metal going rusty and coming un stuck, as they had become very rusty and think that was 1/2 the problem of them peeling.

That is true...But if the glue is spread over the entire area to be stuck then moisture shouldn't get under there....Well not for a fair few years at least...The only thing with the primer is that its a skin essentially so that may lift at some point rendering the glue useless....Just a thought...Ziga

Self etch primer first then a nice bit of wood veneer. Can't beat it!
