Cambridge Audio Minx Go wireless bluetooth speaker
Discussion
Not heard the Minx however I've recently bought a Logitech UE Boombox which is around your budget (Was at £90 Amazon at the time). Can't praise it enough.. Some reviews say that it is a bit bass heavy but I've not found it a problem.

RS have the Minx Go 'exclusively' as RS is part of the same group of companies as Cambridge Audio.
We tested the Bose Soundlink, PURE Jongo S3, JBL 'something' in John Lewis then went to RS to check out the Minx, Pioneer '????' ...
The Minx Go is OK but NONE of the Bluetooth speakers at c.£100 are going to give you truly decent stereo or hi-fi sound; anything running on battery rather than mains won't have decent power or be distortion free with volume turned up.
So, wait for the SONOS cordless that's out soon IF you want rechargeable.
Else, the Pioneer in RS gave the best sound when plugged in & is only £69 - it also does DLNA, wifi etc BUT does not have a battery.
In a room at Uni, that would be my choice; leaving £30 worth of extra beer tokens.
As long as you don't want to be taking it outside - not recommended with a £100 speaker where students are anyway IMHO - would use a cheap pair of battery powered SONY laptop speakers and 3.5mm cable in that case.

Hi All,
Thanks for all the suggestions, I will look into all of them. Do you know how much the sonos will be when released?

Cheers,
Tom

OK had a go with it, it's pretty decent for what it is.
The usual problem with portable ipod docks etc that are under £100 is they can be quite tinny, not great bass, distort very easily and not very loud.
This is a pretty impressive unit. It's a bit weightier than I thought it would be, but it's certainly a solid unit. The sound is quite impressive. Definitely enough bass, maybe even a little too much and need to change the EQ on my iphone. It paired easily and played straight away.
For the money, I'd definitely get one. We'll be using it for holidays mainly, but wouldn't be a problem having it for background music etc too.
The fact it has AUX, USB & Bluetooth pretty much future proofs it against anything and any phone/music player you want to buy will work.
Definitely recommended.
