good evening gents, I'm new to this page so thought i would introduce myself biggrin

currently have a Citroen C2 VT, i was 19 when i first bought the car and it started out as a 1.1 (laughable) being based in Manchester, it's incredibly difficult to be insured of anything with more power (3k i had to pay on my 1st year) but anyway, about the car...

The car is booked in this month to be converted to a 3.0 v6 which should see me around 230BHP i've done most of the prep work myself to get it ready for the transplant and i've loved doing it!

when i first bought the car -

have it stands today -

looking to doing some track days when the car is ready, and would love to get to know some of you guys/girls

thanks

biggrin

hey smile he may have been talked about it on here but it's the same dude that made the C2V12, he's called Gary stone and runs Cleveland car conversion. cracking bloke and very helpful in the c2 society, wouldn't go anywhere else smile

and the price I've been given is just over 3k which includes a fully running v6 with gearbox and loom ect ect.. the brake upgrades, suspension and exhaust are extra, but thats already been done by me smile

the rear axel is on drums at the minute, so he will be converting that for me also

Looking forward to seeing this progress. If insurance is tough on the standard car, what sort of prices are you looking at once it's converted?

Interesting project, although i would opt for a cammed Jp4 from a VTS, sure the v6 would produce more power but it's a heavy unit. Look forward to seeing the results.

as the car is only a 1.1, upgrading to a 1.6 wouldn't really put a smile on my face as much as a V6, as many c2 members have said, its just cheaper to get a 1.6 mode, so 3.0 v6 was the only option i really wanted

surprisingly the v6 isn't THAT heavy, in fact, its slightly lighter than the 1.6 turbo's that people are converting, will keep you updated biggrin

That name sounds familiar from the distant past. Saxon Sport Tuning? Wide arch Saxo that may have been turbocharged?

Assuming it's an ES9 PSA V6 engine (as found in 406 Coupe's etc.) then they're 215kg dressed vs. the 117kg dressed of a TU5JP4S.

So yeah only 84% heavier laugh

those V6'S are quite heavy once the ancillaries are attached. but fitting a v6 into a little c2 got to give you credit.

I remember when I had a C2 VTS (crap car, but I loved it!) and I was knocking about the forums, there was a bloke with a twin V6 C2. Orange I think. Unfortunately burnt down in a garage fire with a number of other cars.

Very much looking forward to seeing how this turns out!

Know a guy who had one done, might've been the first one Gary Stone did actually, ran well, reliable made good power, but kept killing driveshafts.

He's swapped the V6 for a VAG 1.8T now I believe.

So the engine is in, and WOW, how much fun am i having!

we hit a couple of teething issues with cooling and a couple of small oil leaks, but they are getting smoothed over this month.

i attended french car show (3 days after it came back from the unit) and it won 1st prize biggrin

here are some photos:

- this was after the show when i can finally start my own stuff, and what better than to tart up the engine bay a little bit.

- also doubled up the fans for some more cooling, like i said a few teething troubles at the minute but the engine is running beautifully!

just sorting out the paperwork now to send off to the DVLA. but insurance is sorted with adrian flux and was bloody surprised how cheap it was!

the V12 c2 is still going bud, its looking a little sorry for itself, but its still very much alive.

the one you are talking about was the 1st V6 with a D8 engine which caught fire whilst wielding was being done.

Gary who owns the V12 is planning to get the car running again this year, at the minute its missing a front engine.

yes!

he swapped for a 1.8t conversion on the same car, but decided to sell the car to gary now. the car is still undergoing the transplant and hopefully will be at TRAX this year.

and the driveshaft issue is sorted now, he now has 1 piece shafts made up smile
