LY Clio 200t cup

Big difference as the 197 was manual and the new one being an auto.
This is my first auto car so it is difficult to compare to any other autos.
The disappointing thing about the auto is that you need to be in race mode to get the quickest gear changes, why you couldn't have that in sport and normal mode I do not know.
Some times the gear changes can be slow, especially when setting off in first gear it takes a second to engage, this is in auto mode. When using the paddles it is a lot better.
You do not get the kick like you did in the old one when the rev counter hit 5,000 rpm but you do get the power all the way through the power band.

Nice one. I had a LY 200T go the other way past me yesterday morning in the direction of Shoreham-By-Sea (no idea if it would be you?!). Looked really good in the sun, and made me miss my R26 which was the same colour (another RS fan, as I also had an R26.R).

The gear change speed when using the paddles was one of the criticisms on the training; even in race mode they were just too slow, the did say they were working on a software update to speed things up however I don't know if it has been implemented yet, I drove a Seat Leon Cupra a few weeks ago with a DSG box; the manual changes using the paddles were lightening quick.
Having said that they are a great car and a sign of how things are progressing and changing with regards to performance cars.

Looks amazing in that colour.
Mrs and I really would like to get something of this size in the not too distant future. We both really like the fiesta ST, but I also really liked the look of the RS over the ST... both of them aren't the prettiest things on the planet, but I think the Clio is the better looking of the two.
Would be interested to know what the ride and refinement is like (Not the most PH question of course, but cars like this often serve dual duties... it has to be half decent when cruising down the M1)? And whether you test drove an ST or 208 GTi before deciding?
I'd definitely have that Liquid Yellow, the other half however really likes that glossy looking red. There is a normal clio parked outside right now in a similar red and it does look good, but yellow is better.

Now you mention it, it might have been Friday afternoon around 5pm, as I was taking the same route that I did on Saturday as well.. Between Bramber and Shoreham flyover.I was at Shoreham on Friday.
I did not drive the ST or the 208 GTI I have always loved RS so went straight back.
The ride with the cup pack is quite stiff so for long motorway cruising I would go for non cup pack although cup pack is more sought after when selling.
The Megane and the Clio are in two different leagues especially now with the Clio having the auto box. They are both great fun to drive.

Looks good - I bought a 197 back in 2007 and really liked it. I think a lot of loyal RS fans have been turned off by the auto only option on the 200 now.
I'm very interested in your megane though. I currently drive an M135i but apparently the RS Meg is the best hot hatch in terms of driving pleasure - is it really that good?
