ffs, talk me out of a Lotus Carlton

If it's what's your heart is telling you, do it. But make sure you drive one if possible, just in case it doesn't live up to expectations. Might be hard though... Not exactly many main dealer with a demonstrator handy!
Financially it makes better sense than a new golf for Christ sake! It won't exactly depreciate much!
Eta: that's not really talking you out of it, is it? f
k it, if you don't do it now you probably never will!

Balls.
is this my my missus hates this place? You're supposed to talk about spares availability, rust, age, and leccy gremlins.
useless, the lot of yer
I bought an 8.32. 9 sold in the UK, from a manufacturer no longer present here. I dream of LC like parts availability, back up and electrical stability. is this my my missus hates this place? You're supposed to talk about spares availability, rust, age, and leccy gremlins.

And would not change a thing. Get it bought.
loads of reasons not to get one
its a vauxhall
massively over hyped, made headline back in the day purely because it was fast for its time
its a vauxhall
the carlton was a terrible car with a £13 dash
its a vauxhall
the engine block is a 1950s lorry block
its a vauxhall
etc
if its an itch then you need to scratch it
there are 10 reasons why personally i would not get one

I'm 40, and the LC was the ultimate fast saloon I had never heard of anything like it before, as a kid we all talked about it. I vaguely remember a story of someone saying they read that it had to be doing 90 to get into top gear (although I'm sure that's teenage exaggeration!)
Buy it so you can be hailed a hero by everyone else that wants one!
