So I thought it was time to have a crack at getting an MOT on my FHC yesterday... First chance to drive it on the road to the MOT station-all basically ok but it did stall a couple of times when warmed up...

Anyway tester gets in car to begin MOT , goes to start - nothing , starter not turning over...ignition coming ok etc...tried giving the starter motor a clonk with a hammer but no -RAC it was ...great RAC guy , really interested in car, and soon sorted it - sticky starter solenoid - cloned it while turning key and all fine again , unfortunately by then MOT station closed for the day... Oh well, was not to be....

Glad it was something minor Mike.

I feared the worst when I read the title of you post!

What's it drive like? I never got that far.

Few years ago I broke down taking the mini to the MoT for the first time in years.
Just re read that, the mini broke down, and it was case of the AA man and a new rotor arm
This year everything was fine, got there, reversed round to the test exit as it wont clear the steelwork at the start of the pit, switched it off. Wouldn't restart, the MoT man and I spent 5 minutes trying to get it going but nothing.
Then just as mysteriously it fired up!

Don't worry Karl - nothing serious !

I managed to drive to the petrol station beforehand - felt pretty good but I took it very easy .. I haven't actually driven a 350 before so tricky to say if all was well ...clutch bite seemed a bit high but gearchange itself felt very good, so not sure if it might need a new clutch in a few thousand miles ...

Quite firm ride, to be expected I guess, but the sound was superb - but that exhaust is VERY low - I wouldn't want to visit any speed bumps in it !
