This week's Autocar reveals a rethink from Farboud cars that will take the car downmarket from the envisaged £80k price tag.

Farboud said "I thought we should sell racing cars for the road but people actually want something comfortable that looks fast"

I think that has been the whole philosophy of the Vette and why it sells in such large volumes.

Although they are very different I think this is why the Boxster S is also such a popular car and the biggest competitive threat to proposed Corvette sales in UK.

And I have said it before: very few of us are Michael Schumachers... A car that can *easily* be driven very quickly is much better than a car that may be quicker, but requires *proffessional* piloting to wring that out of it; in that respect, the Corvette is a great car.

Err, I thought the Vette was fast as well as looking fast. Or am I missing the point.
