Has my Samsung LCD tv gone bang?
Discussion
Morning everyone. So, I switched on my Samsung LCD tv (32") last night, poor old thing is now 10 years old, and after a few seconds, the screen got slowly lighter and lighter until it was just pure white. Sound was fine.
Turned it off, back on again, same thing. I had noticed over the past few weeks that I'd started to get some shadows down the right hand side so not surprised it's gone completely now.
Anyone confirm that this is typical of a screen that's old and needs replacing?
Cheers, Simon.

Google it, we had an issue with our 40' Samsung TV at about 7 years old, well out of warranty.
Common issue of blown resistors, they sent out two techs within a few days who replaced the affected parts and a few others that were susceptible to failure - all at 0 cost to us.
We were very impressed and will buy Samsung for our next TV.
Worth a try :-)

Blimey, I've just googled it, seems like I've done very well to get 10 years out of it.Common issue of blown resistors, they sent out two techs within a few days who replaced the affected parts and a few others that were susceptible to failure - all at 0 cost to us.

Cheers for the info everyone.
