Hi to everyone, got my first TVR 6 mths ago, nice tidy 1990 red S3, lovingly looked after with less than 38k on clock. I need help, ive got the bug and literally spend hours, days tinkering, cleaning compiling wishlists and to do lists.....this is normal right ? Ive been on the sidelines following forum for some time and so now its time ask my first question......I understand that the S3 inner tierods are from a Cortina mk3 and almost impossible to get, Has anyone on the forum found a suitable alternative , from a modern ford perhaps with same length and suitable thread at tierod end. If this question is well documented , i appologize.....im new.

Cheers

Welcome to the S forum. Suggest you try the search function at the top of the pages in the first instance as rack issues are well covered. Prefix the search with TVR S Series to get a more accurate return. So in this case TVR S Series rack should give you what your looking for.

Welcome indeed wavey good to have another enthusiast along. You could hardly have a more friendly or helpful forum. Agree with above, do a search as advised and you should find what you need. If not...come back onto the forum, someone should help. I am not going to get into this technical issue as mine is an S1 and I have never needed to do the rack part of the steering.

Hi, rack is a TVR hybrid, Vauxhall chevette mainly but with Ford or is it Lotus track rods? (most Lotus stuff was probably Ford?)

A bit of searching, as suggested, should reveal a wealth of information. eg rack thread

Depending on your "issues" these guys may be able to helpscratchchin

there was a brand new, never used, old stock S Series rack on the classifieds until recently whistle

Welcome to another Scottish S owner! I organise a classic car show for the Erskine charity at Bishopton in July (Saturday 12th) and we should have a number of TVR's attending if you are interested in coming along.
