Just back from hospital having been rear ended at a roundabout.

Griff looks to be dead, the i40 picked me up in the air and launched me. Rear snapped just aft of the doors and the boot was mostly missing. Fuel tank ruptured and the rear wheels were not in the original place...

Oh and a head shaped dent in the windscreen surround.

Other guy drove home.

Having had back surgery at the end of last year I'm looking forward to a few days on diazepam. At the least.

That's terrible news and I'm sorry to hear it. I hope that you feel better soon and don't suffer any lasting effects.

God awful news Dave, jeez if you didn't have bad luck you'd have no luck at all.

Having been shunted at speed myself [frankie howerd mode on] rolleyes [frankie howerd mode off] I know the injuries it can cause. I hope your back isn't damaged.

The car, well its a car when all said and done and it did its job protecting you. But the accident sounds horrific, what the hell was the Hyundai driver doing!

Sounds pretty rough! I hope you feel better soon.

Hopefully the insurance can either sort your car or allow you to replace it.

Good luck with it all,

Simon

This is the sort of thing that worries me when out and about more than anything else. It doesn't matter how careful you are as a driver it it the other people you have to worry about.

Terrible news about your car but hopefully the insurance will sort it and you won't have any lasting injuries from the shunt.

Agreed I'm now pretty paranoid with everything and everyone around me when I take the griff out, very mindful of its limitations protection wise...

Hope you recover soon OP and everything gets sorted easily enough.

Terrible news, could have been far worse, but thank god your not seriously hurt.
In the 1960s my Late Dad was rear ended hard in his new Healey 3000 by a guy who was trying to race him. No head restraints back then, so lucky his neck wasnt broken, but he was in Hospital for a while.
