Was at Curborough sprint track yesterday for their first running of their new figure-of-8 layout, and I'm delighted to report that it's fantastic. I had my misgivings at first as I thought it made the track a bit auto-soloey, but I changed my mind through the day.

The course if really quite technical, quite a challenge to get right, but also it's fantastic for spectators who now get to see a lot more of the cars as they figure-8 their way round the top loop.

There was a big crowd there yesterday and the atmosphere was great.

I'm not suggesting for one moment that Curborough was in any need of a new lease of life - but by gum it's got it!

I think everyone who competes there will be delighted. smile

We run that layout now too. It's very tricky to get a consistent run, it's also a lot faster.

But I do agree, it's fantastic. A brilliant spectacle to watch also.

Excellent news, I thought it was under threat still.

Any layout drawings or photos of the new layout.

Had my first ever competitive motorsport there so glad its thriving.

I see, thanks. When I first read about the figure of 8 I was hoping that a new stretch of tarmac had been laid back towards the start line and almost parallel with the first "straight", to extend the track. Oh well, can't have everything.
