996 Turbo (2003) indicator stalk broken
Discussion
Hi all,
My indicator stalk has stopped self-cancelling on left signal and would not stay on on right signal. I would attempt to replace it myself. I have a 3-stalk switch (with OBC; no cruise) but as the 3-stalk one is 3 times the price of the 2-stalk version, I am thinking of buying the 2-stalk and then transfer the existing OBC stalk over to the new unit. However, I have a couple of questions.
1) Do I have to cut and solder the OBC stalk wiring to the 2-stalk version? Or it is just plug and play?
2) As I shall be unplugging the airbag, would the airbag light comes up afterwards and do I need Porsche to reset the system?
3) As I shall be disconnecting the battery, what do I need to reset / recode afterwards? (Windows, etc.)
Many thanks
Garry
