Hey

Has anyone removed the original wiring loom for the ECU/engine? I'm guessing a few have?
Did you do it without removing the lower dash?
Everything is undone in the engine bay, ECU removed, loom unhooked round the top of the heater box and hanging down, but i tried for a while yesterday and just couldn't see or work out how to get it out.
The snake of cables heads up behind the centre of the dash, from the engine bay I've got access to the gromit and cables entering the car. Does the loom split off? I was thinking it might split and be cable tied somewhere so that would explain why it seems to be stuck?

I've done a couple and rewired them, engine / front wing / dash..... They do vary a bit so not sure posting anything more than vague instructions is always beneficial as some poor sod can find spending weeks searching for some description that doesn't apply to their car.

Ok thanks, I did think that while writing. It might have been off in the past and someone has cable tied it where they wanted.
Looks like I might just have to drop the dash out again

Which bit are you trying to remove? there are 2 locations for the grommet in the Bulkhead?

I'm not clear what you are trying to do at all... There is a TVR car loom, and a kind of separate LR engine loom (then they get grafted together with various layputs & foibles over time).

Oh ok sorry, I'm removing the ECU, fuel pump relays and all the engine wiring loom so I can make a new one for Megasquirt.
Disconnected everything in the engine bay, the snake of wires which was connected to the edu then runs from the passenger footwell to under the dash, right to what seems the same location as the centre grommet for the engine bay wiring loom.

I've just realised that I'm an idiot, ignore this thread.
I've moved the fuse box behind the passenger seat, Just searched through old pics and I can see that the loom i'm trying to remove and where it breaks off. I just need to remove the tunnel carpet as well.

If you have the early centre grommet through bulkhead, the plugs can be a bit different from what is generally described on here, but should be 'kind of' under the heater dials and can be accessed through the radio panel (or pulled out to split wherever you can).
