Having used Olympus digital cameras for over 4 yrs now, I'm playing with the idea of upgrading.
One of the reasons I'm procrastinating is that I've got all the genuine OE lenses, remote release, extra battery clips, etc etc for the E10, and any move other than to get an E20 will mean starting over, about the only things I'll be able to reuse are my CF cards and AA batteries.
Whilst everyone on here seems to rave about the D70, I must admit that I don't like the 'feel' of the camera.
I'm leaning towards the E1 system, does anyone on here have any experience of it? My only reservations are the use of bespoke lenses and the limited resolution of 5.6Mp.
Tim
PS: Anyone interested in a full E10 setup including, leather camera case, 1.4x teleconverter, 3x teleconverter, 28mm wide angle if I decide to upgrade? All lenses as new and still boxed.

The E1 is a fine camera, my parents own one and ive used it a lot. Great 'out of the box' colour as well.
Zuiko lenses are of extremely high quality, and with lenses you get what you pay for usually. Ive only experienced the 14-54/50-200 & 50mm, but they are excellent, in fact better than that.
Pros - great handling / solid pro-level construction / weather sealed / great battery life (which is even better with the batterypack/vertical hand grip attachment. Fantastic A4 prints and very good A3 prints, not tried anything over that but i think they would be getting a bit too 'soft'
Excellent Auto WB too.
Good dynamic range.
Cons - Noise levels at 400 iso and above, as with all dslrs if you can expose correctly then noise isnt as much of an issue as people say (especially those who do bothing but shoot test targets all day) but it is there at the higher ISO's although neatimage or noise ninja deal with it well. However the noise looks worse ont he screen than on prints.
No on screen histogram immediately after youve taken the photo. You can view the histogram of course but you cant have it display over the image as it appears as youve taken the shot.
If you regularly shoot in very low light levels the AF tends to hunt around a lot and isnt the fastest but for most uses thats a fairly minor point.
If you dont already have lenses for another system then you could do worse than an E1.
Personally i use Nikon but i already had lenses for them so didnt want the expense of selling them and re-investing.
Hope that helps.

Thanks neil, that's a great help.
You're not doing much to disuade me from getting the CC out!
The Resolution issue is niggeling as I want to start doing some product photography for press and at 5mb you're under A4 at 304dpi. But i guess, in all honesty, not many shots are going to be used at that size anyway.

Olympus are releasing the E-300 digi camera soon, as a direct rival to the D70, 8Mp and uses the 4 thirds system. Was thinking of getting one in the new year. We have a D70 at work, and I think it feels a bit cheap, the E-300 has an aluminium body, so should be nice and solid. Review here.
TT Tim, don't get that credit card out yet. If you're seriously tempted by an E1, then pop over to DPREVIEW'S site, visit the Olympus SLR Forum and do some digging regarding the deals available for students and educational establishments. Olympus have been supporting a 50% discount scheme for these users and people have been able to pick them up for half price. All you need is a friendly student
4/3 system is an interesting one, but still early days so we'll have to wait a while to see which manufacturers actually get behind it.

But it's pig ugly and looks like a prosumer compact!

I must agree, was instantly put off by the design, bit like the odd design of some of the semi-pro Sony kit, was always worried that the joint between body and lens would, over time, work loose, leaving you with 'brewers droop'.
