Well I decided I needed something more fun than the Bravo and more reliable.
So after testing a Clio 200, a Juke Dig T, and much more, a car took me by surprise, I never even thought to look at a Cooper S.
Glad I did though, what a surprise.
I was surprised just how competent the Mini was, a couple of friends had them previously, only coopers though, not the S and this was the 1st time I'd experienced one.
It's not my only car, I have a couple of Porsche 924's and a Cinquecento as well, and it's replacing a Nuova Bravo T Jet Sport, which although a brilliant looking car, wasn't the most reliable or fun, and I need fun!
So far it's proved a great companion in the week and a bit we've had it, the other half uses it to goto work and back as I generally walk to work, and it's averaged 32.1 MPG in stop start traffic over a 10 mile round trip for her, which is over 5 more than the Bravo did and it has 30 more HP!
So far I'm enjoying the effortless overtaking urge and the brilliant turn in, the rear could play a bigger part in the cornering, only really coming into play if you trail brake far into the corner, but I'm sure I'll have more fun once I'm more used to it.
I want to do the speaker wiring swap, although I don't find it too bad, it's not as good as the Bravos hifi was.
It feels a very special place to be though, the panoramic roof and mood lighting no doubt helping a lot in this respect, and the seat goes nice and low as does the wheel so you can really get comfortable.
Just ordered some new mats as the oem ones are past their best and I need a new aerial as it's falling apart so I'll get a stubby one.
Then I'll just enjoy it as is for now, will eventually look to remap and maybe get some recaros but it'll take a while to get bored of it I think!
Bought from Mini with 40k miles, dark silver, black roof and mirrors, panoramic roof, chili pack, upgrade alloys, mood lighting, leather 3 spoke wheel, cd changer prep, bi Xenons and half leather.
It's a cracking little thing to drive, plenty of power, brilliant turn in and yet is still a composed and comfortable place to spend time.
Not needing of anything so I'll just drive it and enjoy it for now.
