Long time fast ford lurker and I have just put a deposit down on a 06 focus st-2.
I will be honest I haven't drove one,but owned a few focuses in the past.
Looking for some owners opinions on them ie,what are they like to own, drive, reliability, what are they like performance wise etc etc.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks jay.

I purchased one of these last week 07, 54K miles in a subtle sea grey so only have very limited experience. I plan to use it as an all round work horse. Went to Brands last weekend around the M25 and a bit of the M26 and it pulls very well without any lag low down, was comfortable and sounds deep and powerful. Really impressed. The steering feel can be set to Sport, normal or lazy, so use it in sport of course. The lump of technology in the dash sounds ok but looks a bit crap to try and view as is the very small computer readout.
Overall impressions so far, I'm impressed, it looks good, sounds great and goes really well and is a lot of car for the money. I hope my relationship lasts.

Ive had mine 18 months now its a pretty good car tbh.

Eat tyres due to camber - This time im going to swap them about hopefully getting a lot longer life out of them.
Drink fuel
Steering doesnt really give you much feeling
Watch for the filter housing splitting - mine has been ok but its a common fault

Im pleased with mine its quick enough, sounds nice and the build quality isnt to bad.

The only Mod ive done is to the AUX socket in the glove box so i can plug in my Iphone / Ipod. I just ran a 2M cable behind the dash and it now comes out of the ashtray so its easy to plug in. Quick and simple job well worth doing. I made a guide how to do it. I did a guide how to do it on Focus St owners club. Just search my posts on there.

How quick are you talking? I'll easily get about 10K out of a set of fronts on mine running 300BHP. A decent 4 wheel alignment is a must on these cars!

Agreed!

Had a 57 plate ST and was great. Tweaked to stage2 for some more fun smile

Having only owned my ST for a week or so I thought Id give it a quick check over, wheels, brakes etc before driving it too far at any speed. Upon removing the front off side wheel I noticed the drive shaft outer boot started to leak oil, not what I wanted to find frown 54K miles and 2007 car, unacceptable really IMO.
I am lucky as I have another car to use so will line up this work for the bank holiday weekend, remove both driveshafts and replace the lot including the disks and pads all round as well as these are also badly lipped and the pads are down to the last dregs.

Should prove to be an interesting weekend, not really what I wanted as I was going to take my GT3 to Anglesey but I do need to get the ST sorted as it has an mot coming up, hey a problem shared and all that smile

How are you getting on with your ST?

I'm on my 2nd ST, both Electric Orange. The only problems I have/had are with tailgaters..who seem to want to race all the time. It's bloody irritating! rolleyes

Getting on great with it,liking the st more than I ever thought I would do.
Desperately need to change the oil, doing it this weekend,I have put a decat on it with the lambda spacer on it,noticed a real difference in the way the engine responds, revs much more freely, plus the noise it now makes now is brilliant, pops and bangs if u back off when the turbo spools up.

Presumably colour has at least something to do with that. No such issues with slightly tatty & dirty invisi-grey smile
