Just saw JZM's twitter feed has posted - "@JZMPorsche: VERY low mileage #Porsche 997 GT3 RS 4.0 for sale (lib pic). Call us tomorrow"

What time do we think it will be sold tomorrow? 10am?

Seriously - if someone were selling a RHD 4 litre with collector mileage they would already be mad to sell it other than at a big name auction...

I'm sorry but that would be a bad move. Would you want to give away 10% to an auction house? Sell it through a proper dealer and negotiate a sensible SOR figure. I'd say 10k max. Most dealers would want to sell a 4.0 right now and would be willing to do it for less. Any serious buyer will have registered their interest with dealers who have the right contacts to source the the kind of cars in question.

If you ask me auctions are more for genuine blue chip classics, not modern stuff. But each to their own. The main issue is the fees from auction houses.

Not sure I agree with you Jamie. You could always set a reserve. The problem a seller has at the moment, is that contrary to the PH massive, the likes of 4RS prices have not hit a ceiling. Every one that comes up is snapped up within the proverbial second. That suggests there is substantially more demand than supply, which means they are underpriced. A well publicised sale or two at auction would be very insightful.

LHD 5k km and £215k? you serious?! that's a bit of a shocker....I'm starting to see what people mean about the market on cars going generally bonkers. There were 3 cars in europe with sub 2k KM available at ~220k eur not so long ago...

There were three cars in Europe for under 200k euro just three-four weeks ago. Indeed, JZM sold their last 4ltr for just under £170k (albeit with 12k miles). It is a crazy market and I suspect we have some way yet before it nears its peak. With decent 360CS's at £150k+ and similar production numbers for them and 997 GT3RS I think we could see 997.2RS hit £150k soon.

Imagine if there is no bubble and prices continue out of control. £200k+ for a 3.8 RS and £400+ for a 4.0...

Are there any amongst you with experience of car bubbles and thoughts on this moment in time?
