NT Password Crack
Discussion
welsh blackbird said:Yes indeed, a piece of software called ERD Commander.
I have been given an old PC that used to be on an NT domain. The PC itself is running NT4.
Is there any way I can discover what the local password is, so that I can get past the log-on screen and log on locally?
Any help much appreciated!
Cheers
Richard
Allows you to change the local admin password. You boot it from CD and it loads a version of NTFS-DOS, giving you extended access to the file system and the SAM.
Used many a time. I gave a copy yonks ago to a friend who'd bought his rivals' bankrupt stock main file server. He changed the password and got their customer details off the server.
Don said:Sure does. The new version boots into a GUI as well.
Greg, does this work on 2000/XP? If so I've got to get me one of those for the occasional "oh bugger" moment.

Hope this helps.
